Pumpkins and Promises: Grace & Strength
The Promises of Grace and Strength
The Merriam - Webster dictionary defines Grace as
1. unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification.
2. a true virtue coming from God.
3. a state of sanctification through divine assistance.
We all have probably heard Grace as giving us something we don't deserve but I love #3 sanctification through divine assistance. ❤️ Grace is such an amazing gift it's hard to put into a few lines of a post so I'm going to share something from my morning devotional that I read a few days back and pray it touches your heart like it did mine.
This particular reading focuses on relationships but really if we open our minds a bit it could be encouragement for any struggle/trial/suffering we go through. We all have them - aren't you so very thankful it doesn't end there?
"He giveth more grace."
And in fact part of that grace is evidenced by His STRENGTH in and throguh us.
"Praise be to the Lord,
for he has heard my cry for mercy.
for he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my STRENGTH and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
and with my song I praise him.
The Lord is the STRENGTH of his people,
a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
Save your people and bless your inheritance;
be their shepherd and carry them forever."
Psalm 28:6-9
be their shepherd and carry them forever."
Psalm 28:6-9
The LORD is MY STRENGTH.
Its not anything I can muster up on my own. ~ So when I accomplish anything in this life my response should be Praise to Him. For even my very breath is a gift from Him. So I can say Grace and Strength is mine and its all because of Jesus.
Here's an amazing song to encourage your heart with these truths.
